1. Checking your website in various web browsers and computers
Web browsers and computers can render colours, fonts and page layouts in different ways.
As our development team are coding your website, we regularly check your site to ensure there are no major errors in the most common web browsers; on mac / pc computers; and with various screen resolutions.
We also check HTML and CSS validation to ensure your website code is based on the strict standards set by the World Wide Web Consortium (
W3C).
2. User testing of your website
Once your site is ready for checking we ask you to review your website in house and test it fully.
Many companies
assume that users will send them feedback on any website issues. Unfortunately, users
that are displeased with your site will most likely not bother
providing feedback, leave your website in frustration and never visit
again.
User testing allows us to catch any usability issues before your website launches.
At j6 design, we select small group of anonymous
users from within your target audience type and provide them with
access to visit your website in its pre-launch form.
We encourage them to "think out loud"
while performing a set of outlined tasks such as "navigate to the contact page
and fill in an enquiry form". We discuss the results with you if any
major issues are raised and will provide recommendations. All minor
issues are fixed automatically.
3. Content review and spell check
Our professional copy editors and marketing experts can check that your content reads well, is search engine optimised and free of spelling errors and typos. Unless specifically requested at the time of quotation, copyediting is an additional cost.
4. Is printing required?
If a user wants to print a page from your website, they really only want the main content and not the navigation or extra
design elements.
A print-specific style sheet will tell the web browser to only print certain parts of your website thus saving paper, ink and keeping your users happy. Unless specifically requested at the time of quotation, a print style sheet is an additional cost. It is a very cost effective alternative to providing printable pdfs.
